Bill Clark
Every once in a while you come across someone who leaves a lasting impression that you don't forget. It is not that you were best friends, or even good friends, but rather the strength of that person's character, their kindness, and steady goodness cause you to stop and examine your own life. Bill Clark was that kind of person to me.
Bill's character started with his smile. He always seemed to be smiling. I don't think I ever met anyone who smiled as much as Bill. Even when we would discuss serious subjects, somehow that smile remained. How can you feel down around a person who smiles that much? When you left your conversation with Bill you always felt better and ended up smiling yourself.
Beyond his smile was his warm way of talking about some unique insight that he had discovered and was more than happy to share with you. From something as important as the economy, to the best kind of pen for writing, Bill would evangelize his opinion on a myriad of topics that would always leave you thoughtful. Perhaps it was this evangelistic zeal that really made him that kind of outstanding person you wanted to emulate. This zeal would change the lives of those around him from Tallahassee to Mongolia and all places in between.
Farewell Bill, we will miss you. " . . .Because I knew you, I have been changed for Good". (Musical Wicked)
